Zhejiang is a place where the Chinese revolutionary red boat set sail, and reform and opening up were initiated, and also an important birthplace of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era. As a saying goes, waterfront towers are the first to catch the moon. In celebration of the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China, CPC HC SemiTek Branch and HC SemiTek “concentric circle” organized the event: “Pursue the Truth – Visit the Former Residence of Chen Wangdao to trace his ideological thoughts”.

At 8:00 on May 19, the Party members of HC SemiTek underwent the monthly Party day study at the conference room of HC SemiTek Party and Mass Service Center. This year also marks the 100th anniversary of the May 4th Youth Movement. In this month’s Party class, we reviewed the May 4th Youth Movement and studied the six-point requirements General Secretary Xi Jinping put forward for the Chinese youth in the new era at the ceremony of the centennial anniversary of the May 4th Movement. Party members are the fresh forces of the young in the new era, and also the most active and vibrant force in the entire society. In the best period of the Chinese nation, young people have the rare opportunities for making great accomplishments and also the mission of “shouldering great responsibility” in the new era. We call on our young Party members to carry forward the May 4th Movement spirit and maximize their youthful power in the company.

After the study of the class, we boarded a coach bound for the former residence of Chen Wangdao in Fenshuitan Village, Yiwu City. Mr. Zhou Fuyun, Chairman of HC SemiTek (Zhejiang) Co., Ltd., was pleased to hear that our Party members visited the former residence of Chen Wangdao for studies. He also drove to the former residence for studies with us. During the visit, all Party members reviewed the growth, life story, photos and valuable collections of Chen Wangdao under the guidance of the docent. These precious historical materials demonstrate the power of faith, instilling the ideological thoughts into the Party members. We also visited the old site of the firewood storage room where Mr. Chen Wangdao translated The Communist Manifesto into Chinese, and listened to the story of Chen Wangdao who accidentally ate ink. All visitors feel the power of truth. It is because of the firm belief in the pursuit of truth and a sense of pride and identity as a Communist that ink is sweeter than brown sugar.

In Guangyuan Technology Town, Party members shared the ideological knowledge they gained. Everyone considered that this practical activity strengthened consensus and responsibility as a Party member, and inspired the young Party members as the fighters in life. As Mr. Zhou said in the visit, “General Secretary Xi Jinping said in the report on the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China that when the people have ideals, their country will have strength, and their nation will have a bright future. You are excellent young Party members in our company. The future of the company depends on you. We must learn from Mr. Chen Wangdao, remain true to our original aspiration and keep to our faith. The ideal of national rejuvenation will be fulfilled by your generation.”
