On Oct. 11, Ren Shimao, Deputy Director of the Standing Committee of the Provincial People’s Congress, led members of the Provincial People’s Congress Finance and Economic Committee to inspect Wuhan East Lake High-tech Development Zone and carry out a survey of the development of emerging industries of strategic importance. Municipal leaders including Ma Xuming, Lu Guoxiang and Shao Weimin accompanied the leaders.

The research team visited HC Semitek and held a discussion with HC Semitek executives at HC Semitek’s meeting room. Mr. Zhou Fuyun, Chairman of HC Semitek; Dr. Liu Rong, the President; Mr. Ye Aimin, the Vice President; and Han Jidong, the Chief Financial Officer, attended this meeting. Dr. Liu introduced the development and operations of the company to the leaders and discussed how to foster the development of LED strategic emerging industries.

After listening to the report, Ren Shimao pointed out that to foster strategic emerging industries, it is necessary to deepen understanding, step up investment, and sped up the development, and take the development of strategic emerging industries as the starting point of spurring strategic adjustment of economic structure, new economic growth points for market development and strategic fulcrum for the change of the economic development mode.

After the meeting, the research team visited Quanzhen Optoelectronics, and held a seminar for reports from the municipal government and high-tech zone on the development of strategic emerging industries.
