2010-09-25

The signing ceremony for the talents sponsored by the third “3551 Talent Plan” organized by Wuhan East Lake High-tech Development Zone was held at Wuhan International Convention and Exhibition Center on the afternoon of Sept. 16, 2010. Dr. Wang Jiangbo, assistant to the President of HC Semitek and R&D Manager, received funding as a high-level overseas professional introduced to Wuhan.

Dr. Wang Jiangbo obtained a bachelor’s and master’s degree at Peking University, and later obtained his doctorate in semiconductor optoelectronics from the Department of Electronic Engineering at Arizona State University. After graduation, Dr. Wang served for many years as a senior development researcher at the R&D department of Philips Lumileds. Dr. Wang’s research mainly covers the R&D of ultra-high-brightness solid-state lighting; the R&D of high-brightness and high-efficiency blue and light semiconductor LED; and research on the optoelectronic characteristics of III nitride materials and related light-emitting devices. His research achievements include 17 papers published on well-known index journals at home and abroad, 46 conference abstracts and anthologies, and memorandum for 5 patents and inventions.

In May this year, Dr. Wang joined HC Semitek, becoming one of the newly introduced core technical talents at Wuhan East Lake National Independent Innovation Demonstration Zone. Prior to this, Dr. Wei Shizhen from Taiwan, vice president of HC Semitek, received funding from the first “3551 Talent Plan”. As a high-tech enterprise founded by overseas returnees who are the backbone of core technology, HC Semitek has made outstanding work in stepping up R&D investment and introducing high-level talents and is fully recognized by governments at all levels.

The introduction of high-level professionals in the LED industry from all over the world to HC Semitek will promote technology R&D and product progress at HC Semitek. They will also assist the energy-saving semiconductor lighting industry in mainland China in catching up and surpassing the world competitors in terms of independent intellectual property rights.
