The “Leading the Future - Technology Innovation Project Launch Conference” was held in Hangzhou on November 14. As one of the 12 themed events of the Fifth World Zhejiang Entrepreneurs Convention, the event was held on the theme of “Science and Technology-led Future and Innovation-driven Glory”, with a view to promoting the matchmaking of Zhejiang businesspeople, creating an atmosphere conductive to innovation and development, building the confidence in high-quality development, inspiring the enthusiasm for entrepreneurship and innovation, showcasing scientific and technological innovation achievements, and attracting businesspeople back to Zhejiang.

At the conference, the Science Technology Department of Zhejiang Province released the list of the first provincial key labs of enterprises established by Zhejiang businesspeople and awarded plates to the winners. HC SemiTek Limited, Zhejiang was approved as Zhejiang Key Lab of Third-generation Semiconductor Materials and Devices, making it the first provincial key lab in Yiwu. This is a symbol that Science Technology Department of Zhejiang Province recognizes the company’s technology reserves and scientific research strength regarding third-generation semiconductor materials and devices, and that HC SemiTek reaches a new height in technological innovation.

Since its establishment, HC SemiTek has been focusing on the R&D and production of semiconductor materials and devices, and is the second largest LED chip producer in China. While developing LED chips, the company harnesses its scientific research strengths to carry out the R&D in other areas of third-generation semiconductors, and has made important progress. in addition to the recently approved provincial key lab, HC SemiTek has also been approved as Zhejiang High-Tech Enterprise Research and Development Center, Zhejiang Province Leading Innovation Team, Zhejiang provincial enterprise technology center, Zhejiang Province postdoctoral workstation, and innovative leading enterprise in Yiwu. National key R&D programs, key projects for scientific and technological innovation cooperation, Zhejiang key R&D projects, and Guangdong key R&D projects which HC SemiTek undertakes or is involved in are being carried out in an orderly manner.

The key lab will bring together the scientific and technological innovation resources of the company. With the support of corporate R&D resources, it gathers outstanding technology R&D talents in the field of new semiconductor materials and devices, and integrates the R&D resources of universities, research institutes and Yiwu industrial cluster to introduce, absorb and independently develop generic technologies, key technologies, and forward-looking technologies for the third-generation semiconductor materials and device sector. At the same time, it uses the technological research achievements to provide engineering R&D and results matchmaking necessary for industrialization, and lead the incubation of emerging industries.
